Parts Information Portals
Manufacturers, suppliers, dealers/distributors, and equipment operators all share a common need to access and distribute parts-related information. Effective parts information systems can help generate cost savings, improve maintenance and purchasing processes, and ensure safer operations by providing accurate parts information.
As the Internet represents an ideal environment for collaborative information exchange, many manufacturers and equipment operators have come to rely upon web-based parts information portal systems to provide these benefits.
CDG - Our History with Parts Portals
Many years ago CDG, along with some of its forward-thinking customers, recognized how Internet technologies could be applied to build collaborative parts portals to share critical parts information. Some of our successful parts portal applications that are still widely in use today include:
- The ATA Aviation Marketplace (formerly SPEC 2000 Databases) – Developed by CDG on behalf of the Air Transport Association, the ATA Aviation Marketplace offers a standardized portal platform to support the exchange of parts pricing and availability information between original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), suppliers and the world’s leading airlines. The underlying databases have grown to include more than 6 million records. CDG is responsible for ongoing maintenance of the portal application, secure hosting of the databases, and technical help desk support services for all airline and manufacturer/supplier end users of the ATA Aviation Marketplace.
- International Airlines Technical Pool – The International Airlines Technical Pool (IATP) is an organization comprised of several of the world’s leading airlines. Under the auspices of the IATP, members share aircraft parts, aircraft tooling, ground handling equipment, and manpower. The IATP serves its members by reducing airline operational delays, cancellations, and costs by providing a means by which to share resources. CDG developed the web-based portal application that supports this data exchange among IATP members. CDG also supports IATP with secure hosting of the application and related databases, technical help desk services for end users, and distribution of IATP related publications.
- TMC FleetPortal – Developed on behalf of the Technology and Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Associations, TMC FleetPortal provides web-based access to technical publications and related documents supporting trucking and heavy equipment fleet operations. It can be integrated with existing back office parts procurement, inventory management, or maintenance management systems. TMC FleetPortal is based upon CDG’s Secure On-Demand™ content management platform application.
