CDG Announces Release of Secure On-Demand™ Hosted Solution
BELLEVUE, Wash., March 8, 2007 – Continental DataGraphics (CDG), a subsidiary of The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA], today announced the first commercial release of Secure On-Demand™, an enhanced version of its popular web-based On-Demand Information Manager™ document portal. Secure On-Demand™ offers robust security features and is delivered as a secure hosted application, affording greater control over distributed access to sensitive information.
Secure On-Demand™ is built on CDG’s proprietary On-Demand Information Manager™ technology, a platform that has been proven in commercial use for several years. Unlike traditional document management applications installed on local networks, Secure On-Demand™ is provided from a securely hosted platform that is managed and safeguarded by CDG. As a hosted service, Secure On-Demand™ enables greatly improved internal and external business supply-chain communications. A hosted solution also enables the rapid deployment of a total solution without major new capital outlays for equipment or the heavy resource requirements typically associated with installed document management software applications, resulting in a significant reduction in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Secure On-Demand™ features a rich set of document management capabilities with extensive control over user access, viewing rights management, viewing history, and configurable metadata. Its sophisticated security features include multi-segment log-in, fully encrypted communications protocols, IP filtering under application control (“soft” IP filtering), and database embedded document binaries. It also offers a set of web services that enable integration with other strategic line-of-business applications.
Gary Beyer, Vice President of Business Development for CDG commented, “We have positioned Secure On-Demand™ to benefit organizations with environments where a high level of trust and confidence are required. The decision to release this application for a broader range of industries is a natural evolutionary step for us. Our decades of experience as a trusted partner supporting the secure delivery of information for the Aerospace and Defense community have placed us in a credible position to deliver hosted confidential document services to other sectors with a need to protect sensitive information, such as Government, Healthcare, Finance and Insurance.”
Secure On-Demand™ can be applied to support requirements for secure, centralized document repositories in a number of business environments, including Human Resources, Contracts and Legal departments, Customer Support, Engineering Services, Facilities Management, and internal or public access documents for various City and County government departments.
