Inmedius® S1000Dmanager™ Enhances Reuse, Applicability & Performance
Pittsburgh, PA – June 23, 2014 - CDG, a Boeing Company, today announced the latest release of its robust technical publications management solution, Inmedius® S1000Dmanager™. The new update of Manager v4.5 includes features and capabilities that significantly expand the reuse of information, applicability handling, publishing options, and speed of technical publication processes. These lead to enhanced ease of use and impressive gains in productivity, efficiency and system performance.
A new Reuse Object System allows sections of data to be reused for almost any tag, or set of data, within the S1000D Specification. Applicability may be managed as a reusable object and edited using a built-in editor. Users also have the ability to download published manuals at a later time, manage publication stylesheets, and perform queued processing of data extracts.
“The development focus of S1000Dmanager v4.5 is to meet the increasing demands put upon our customers to publish ever more complex and extensive technical documentation for their Aerospace and Defense clients,” explained Sean Rushing, Director of Inmedius S1000D Products and Services. “The latest release provides our customers with additional capability in managing and maintaining applicability data, and a mechanism to create their own reuse libraries. Data exchange was also optimized, dramatically improving throughput for nearly all file management actions -- including import, export and publishing functions.”
The system was optimized, yielding impressive gains in speed, including an 85% improvement in publication processes. Additional increases of 15% to 60% have been achieved across the management system; including Library navigation, viewing Data Module Requirement Lists (DMRLs), Data Dispatch Note (DDN) export, data import, and other functions.
General distribution of the Manager v4.5 software is expected in July 2014. Inmedius S1000Dmanager customers, with current maintenance subscriptions, may access the update via the Inmedius Customer Portal at that time.
S1000Dmanager integrates authoring through publishing, as part of the comprehensive Inmedius® S1000D Publishing Suite™. The easy-to-use, modular solution supports the entire S1000D technical documentation lifecycle. Manager v4.5 provides seamless compatibility of the new reuse functionality with previously released Publishing Suite modules, while expanding support for applicability handling and filtering of S1000D Issues 3.0, 4.0, 4.0.1 and 4.1. With its process-driven, business approach, Manager extends the functionality of a Content Management System (CMS) to the software’s S1000D project setup and support capabilities.
