Inmedius® S1000Dmanager™ Enhances Processes, Security & Productivity
Pittsburgh, PA – April 11, 2013 - Inmedius®, a Boeing Company, announces the latest release of its robust management system, Inmedius S1000Dmanager™. Manager v4.4 incorporates a number of new or expanded capabilities and enhancements, which promote ease of use, improve processes and increase productivity. These include the ability to preview Data Modules, facilitate security through document-level access controls, and advance support for commercial aviation with dual access to Inmedius ATAmanager™. Many of S1000Dmanager’s developments were in direct response to meeting the evolving needs of Inmedius’ global customers, who represent the world’s leading aerospace and defense organizations.
As commercial businesses expand into the defense sector, protecting technical data is essential. Manager v4.4 enhances user access and restriction management to improve documentation control and security. Through the software’s Export Control settings, administrators may exclude user access from any aspect of a document, with security lock-down of a project and marking content. This is especially important for adherence to Export Control Regulations (ECR); including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
“Today, many of Inmedius’ clients are faced with the complex challenge of having to use both the S1000D and ATA aerospace standards, which can cause unnecessary rework and cost,” remarked Sean Rushing, Inmedius Director of S1000D Products and Services. “The S1000D Specification’s aim is to further harmonize S1000D and ATA iSpec 2200, with numerous changes driven by current developments of Airbus and Boeing aircraft. Inmedius’ latest software release facilitates synchronization of the merging of the aerospace standards by allowing S1000Dmanager and ATAmanager to operate simultaneously.”
Inmedius was the first to deliver S1000D Issue 4.0 support and aggressively moved forward by supporting the Issue 4.1 pre-release package. Manager’s product development effort facilitated important Issue 4.1 changes and additions in S1000D requirements, including significant impacts to a large number of Data Modules. The new software release is already in active use by several progressive Inmedius clients, supporting both defense and commercial projects.
S1000Dmanager integrates authoring through publishing, as part of the comprehensive Inmedius S1000D Publishing Suite™. The easy-to-use, modular solution supports the entire S1000D technical documentation lifecycle. With its process-driven, business approach, Manager extends the functionality of a Content Management System (CMS) to the software’s S1000D project setup and support capabilities. Support for Oracle® 11g and SAP® Right Hemisphere 3-D visualization software were added in Manager v4.4.
