CDG Subject Matter Experts to Lead Presentations at S1000D User Forum

Long Beach, Calif. – June 13, 2012 – CDG, a Boeing Company announced that it will have CDG subject matter expert representatives participating as guest speakers to support the upcoming S1000D User Forum. The Forum will be hosted at the Sheraton Downtown Denver hotel in Denver, Colorado on June 18-20. CDG Vice President of Technical Publications, Warren Smith and CDG Technical Publications Consultant, Ian Proctor will each provide informative new presentations on S1000D for the forum attendees.
Hosted this year by the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), the S1000D User Forum is the official event to learn about the latest developments in S1000D. The User Forum provides attendees with an opportunity to learn about the S1000D specification, see the latest software solutions, network with the industry's leading S1000D experts, and gain a better understanding of how S1000D can benefit their organization.
Warren Smith will host a presentation entitled “The Transformation to S1000D: Best Practices in Legacy Data Conversion”. This presentation will provide insights into the experiences of CDG and other organizations in managing large scale projects involving conversion of numerous technical publications from legacy formats into S1000D, including lessons learned and tactics applied throughout those projects. Ian Proctor will deliver a presentation entitled “Model Based Enterprise Implementation Challenges for Technical Publications”. This presentation will explain how the Model Based Enterprise (MBE) can be applied for S1000D technical publications to enable the user to more easily navigate and understand complex information and procedures. The presentation will also briefly highlight areas such as potential use and reuse of models, interactivity, animation and navigation, the effective use of color, and the use of metadata and repositories to track and manage content across the enterprise.
