CDG Delivers Provisioning Services and Inmedius® Platform to Breeze-Eastern
Pittsburgh, PA – May 7, 2014 - CDG, a Boeing company today announced that Breeze-Eastern Corporation has selected CDG technical data services and Inmedius® software solutions to enable delivery of S1000D authoring and S2000M data production as the provisioning platform for a new aircraft program managed by a key Breeze-Eastern aerospace client. Based in Whippany, New Jersey, Breeze-Eastern is a leading global designer and manufacturer of high-performance lifting and pulling devices for military and civilian aircraft.
Breeze-Eastern recently secured a substantial contract to develop and manufacture winches for the new aircraft program, which required utilizing the S2000M international specification for materiel management. CDG’s comprehensive provisioning services included intensive engineering data analysis and conversion to S2000M format. Data was delivered promptly to Breeze-Eastern for parsing and validity checking, before transfer to the aircraft manufacturer for additional approvals.
“CDG managed all facets of the provisioning process with ease,” said Anthony Clarke, Engineering Services Manager, Breeze-Eastern. “In 2013 they delivered our first S2000M data package for a winch system, which was quickly reviewed and accepted by the aircraft manufacturer, and a subsequent data package for another winch system promptly followed.” Clarke added, “The entire process was smooth, seamless and efficient, and we are looking to CDG to complete subsequent data packages for additional Breeze-Eastern equipment on other aircraft projects.”
CDG delivers data packages organized in both Aerospace and Defense system and subsystem S2000M format, by utilizing Inmedius S1000Dconstuctor™ software and collaborative consulting services. Constructor is an advanced, projects-oriented solution that streamlines the authoring and management of parts catalogs through a highly defined, disciplined process. Comprehensive and efficient, the system significantly reduces labor-intensive costs by automating and simplifying the difficult task of managing parts lists. In addition, Constructor provides substantial value in organizing parts catalogs and creating automated S2000M message or text files. With Constructor, authors are also able to create Illustrated Parts Data (IPD) S1000D Data Modules from multiple sources, including S2000M.
“Access to accurate parts information is essential when managing technical publications,” explained David Lowe, Inmedius Sales Engineer. “Creating and maintaining parts catalogs requires collecting diverse information from a wide variety of sources. The rules set for S2000M and the Component Data Instruction Manual (CDIM) is over 1,000 pages in length, making this area of parts data management one of the most costly, complex and tedious technical publication processes. Constructor provides a specialized tool to help streamline this authoring process and enhance productivity.”
Fully integrated with the Inmedius Publishing Suite™ and S1000Dmanager™, Constructor provides immediate and straightforward integration with the S1000D Common Source Database (CSDB) for robust capabilities essential to project management. The seamless combination allows the parts catalog builder to update information directly within Manager’s CSDB, enabling users to quickly and easily generate Illustrated Parts Data (IPD) Data Modules. Other key Constructor features include the ability to maintain parts catalogs across multiple projects, store and manage parts information, and to import data from external sources.
