MIL Standards

The Unites States Military produces many technical publications for the purpose of designing, building, and maintaining complex military equipment. These documents can be prepared in the form of a Military Handbook (MIL-HDBK), a Military Specification (MIL-SPEC), a Military Standard (MIL-STD), a Military Performance Specification (MIL-PRF), a Military Detail Specification (MIL-DTL), as well as many more. In addition to these, each branch of the United States Military: Air Force, Navy, Army, Marines, and Coast Guard; all have unique specifications that are used to produce technical publications. It is vital that the appropriate specifications be identified and strictly adhered to for each individual military project.

CDG specializes in the development and delivery of technical documentation ranging from simple to highly complex, in both paper-based and Integrated Electronic Technical Publications/Manuals delivery formats. Our experience encompasses the commercial as well as the military technical publication spectrums. CDG has extensive experience delivering Type II, Class IV and V Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals that comply with MIL-PRF-87269. CDG is intimately familiar with MIL-STD-40051 and MIL-STD-38784, as well as most USAF, NAVSEA and NAVAIR requirement specifications used for the generation of technical publications.

The United States Military is also giving serious consideration to the adoption of the S1000D™ specification for all new acquisitions as well as for legacy programs where appropriate. CDG is involved with several industry workgroups and task teams whose sole purpose is to identify and assist legacy and new acquisition military programs in the usage and application of the S1000DTM specification.
