DITA
Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) is an XML-based architecture for content authoring, managing and delivery.
While it is primarily used for the efficient production of technical documentation, DITA has a variety of other applications such as procedure manuals, technical training or help files. DITA is based on the concept of Topic-based authoring and relies of content modules that are managed by DITA maps and metadata. By utilizing DITA architecture, content can easily be reused in multiple ways to support traditional document rendering, customized web presentations based on customer metadata or role-based presentations of technical documentation, to name a few.
