Executive Management Team

David Malmo

 

David Malmo
President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Malmo has been a member of CDG’s executive management team since 1994. Prior to joining CDG as its General Counsel, Mr. Malmo practiced corporate and securities law at Munger, Tolles & Olson in Los Angeles. He was promoted to Vice President in June 1995 and to Senior Vice President in August 1997. Mr. Malmo played a leading role in CDG’s successful completion of several acquisition transactions, as well as the divestitures of various non-core businesses. He became the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer in 2000 and chairs the Company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Malmo has led the transformation of CDG from a printing and reproduction services company to a company offering customized solutions across the information management life cycle. Mr. Malmo graduated with honors from Stanford University and holds a law degree from the University of Texas.

Michael Parven

Michael Parven
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Parven joined CDG in February 1988, where he spent six years as Vice President and Controller, and was later promoted to Chief Financial Officer for the company in April 1994. In September 2004, Mr. Parven was promoted to assume a new role as CDG’s Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining CDG, Mr. Parven worked for Arthur Andersen and Litton Data Systems. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and a Bachelor of Science from California State University of Northridge.

James K. Mills

 

James K. Mills
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Mills was named as the Chief Financial Officer for CDG in September, 2006. In his current position, Mr. Mills is a member of the executive team and is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer and to the executive management of CDG. He is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, general accounting, tax, financial planning, facilities, purchasing and finance information systems. Prior to this assignment he was the Controller at CDG, a Principal in a Merger and Acquisition Advisory firm and held several key executive positions at Eaton Corporation; including General Manager, Division Controller and Controller. Mr. Mills is a graduate of the University of Utah and in accounting and was a CPA. Mr. Mills has a proven track record of improving Financial/Operational Performance and Business Development. Businesses under his guidance have dramatically increased profits, grown revenues and improved operating effectiveness.

Cathy Barnard

Cathy Barnard
Vice President Technology Solutions & Customer Support Information Technology Services

Mrs. Barnard joined CDG in March of 2003. In her current role as Vice President of Technology Solutions and Customer Support Information Technology Services, she provides oversight for several of CDG’s key technology development initiatives. Mrs. Barnard is also responsible for oversight of the company’s customer support organization network operation services. Prior to this assignment she was Director of Parts Information Management for Boeing Commercial Aviation Services, a position she held since May of 2001. She joined Boeing in 1988 and has had numerous assignments within Commercial Aviation Services, the support organization within Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Prior to joining The Boeing Company, she spent 11 years with a national bank as a credit card officer. Mrs. Barnard attended the University of Washington and recently completed Duke University, Fuqua School of Business Executive Education Program.

Susan Hennings

Susan Hennings
Vice President Human Resources

Ms. Hennings joined Continental Graphics Corporation as the Vice President Human Resources, DataGraphics division. Ms. Hennings was promoted to Vice President Human Resources, Continental Graphics Corporation, in October 2001. Prior to working for Continental Graphics Corporation, Ms. Hennings, was employed by the Woolworth Corporation as the Vice President Human Resources for their kids clothing division, Kids Mart, which operated 500 stores nationwide. Ms. Hennings graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a minor in Psychology from California State University at Fullerton.

Warren Smith

Warren Smith
Vice President IPC Authoring

Mr. Smith joined CDG's management team in 1998 and was promoted to Vice President of IPC Authoring in November 2005. In this role he is responsible for leading the content development and production authoring operations associated with delivery of all Illustrated Parts Catalogs on behalf of The Boeing Company. Mr. Smith previously held several key management and industry postions within the Product Support organizations of both The Boeing Company and the former McDonnell Douglas Corp., where he managed IPC, Provisioning, Spares Inventory Management, and Component Repair for both commercial and military programs. As a member of the Aerospace Industries Assn. (AIA), Mr. Smith also participated in the early ATA Specification development of IPC Digital Data Formats and was also SPEC 2000 Co-Chair for the industry development of the Provisioning V-File (Variable File). He also served as the McDonnell Douglas Corp. (MDC) Industry Chair Person for Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA), representing MDC before the AIA/ATA and FAA in Washington DC. Mr. Smith attended West Coast University and holds a degree in Business Management as well as several aviation/aerospace technology certificates.

Gary Beyer

 

Gary Beyer
Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development

Mr. Beyer joined CDG in October 2005 and serves today as Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development.  In this role, he is responsible for architecting CDG’s commercial product and service go-to-market strategy and strategic sales and marketing programs world-wide. Mr. Beyer brings more than 20 years of experience as a seasoned technology executive with solid expertise in software development, professional services, and sales, including international business development. Prior to joining CDG, Mr. Beyer served as VP/GM in North America for a Japan-based micro multi-national software development firm.  He also previously served as Managing Principal for Hewlett-Packard Company with regional enterprise sales and account management responsibilities, and previously held a similar role with Compaq Computer prior to its merger with HP. Mr. Beyer also held a position as Director for Internet & eCommerce for Oracle Corp., with responsibility for eBusiness development in the Pacific Northwest region. Mr. Beyer also founded a successful international software firm, BusinessEngine Corp. (BEC), which ranked #50 on the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing companies in the U.S. in 1992. Mr. Beyer is a graduate of Arizona State University cum laude and holds a B.S. degree in Management Information Systems with a minor in accounting. He has also pursued and held various certifications including CPA, CDP and CSP.

Steven Meade

Steven Meade
Director of Technical Authoring

Mr. Meade joined CDG’s Technical Authoring group in 2000. His career spans nearly 30 years of technical authoring experience in the aerospace industry. Mr. Meade has contributed to and has been responsible for the production of numerous aircraft maintenance publications supporting both commercial and military programs, including NASA’s Space Shuttle program. In his current role as Director of Technical Authoring, Mr. Meade is responsible for oversight of all Technical Authoring operations for CDG in the U.S. and U.K. Mr. Meade received a B.S. Degree in Management with an emphasis in Communication.

Janet Galm

 

Janet Galm
Director of Publishing and Quality Assurance

Ms. Galm began her career with CDG in 1981 in the parts listing department, and was later promoted to various management positions to support the company’s illustrated parts catalog operations, including supervision of Boeing Long Beach IPC Authoring and Boeing North Applications Development teams. In her current role as Director of Publishing and Quality Assurance, she is responsible for areas of customer requirements, computer operations, final production, and digital data quality associated with delivery of technical publications produced by CDG. Prior to joining CDG, Ms. Galm was a high school English instructor in Indiana and Illinois. She received a B.A. in English from Indiana University.

 

Mona Rice

 

Mona Rice
Director of Marketing

Ms. Rice joined CDG in 1999 as the Marketing Manager for the Product Development Division of CDG, and later assumed broader responsibilities, acting as Marketing Manager supporting all divisions of CDG. In 2005 she was promoted to Director of Marketing. In this role she is responsible for corporate communications, advertising and promotions, public relations, and development and execution of strategic marketing plans for the company. Prior to joining CDG, Ms. Rice was the Marketing Manager for scientific publisher Annual Reviews, Inc. in Palo Alto, CA, where she was instrumental in development of strategic plans for transitioning the organization’s numerous print titles over to an Internet-based service. She also previously held marketing positions with Aircraft Technical Publishers (ATP) and XL/Datacomp, Inc. Ms. Rice graduated with high honors from Texas Tech University, where she received a B.A. degree in English.
